Cylinder honing, a specific expertise of HYD&AU VÉRINS
At HYD&AU VÉRINS, two cylinder manufacturing processes are used.
The standard process involves using established tubes, chrome rods, cutting them at length as needed, and assembling the various components parts of the cylinder. This manufacturing process is applicable at both manufacturing sites.
Because of its history, the Creutzwald site has been led to develop a manufacturing process including in-house running capabilities to meet the specific needs and uses of its customers.
A raw tube is bought and then, if necessary, roughed and lapped in order to obtain the roughness required. Lapping stones are mounted on the head of the machine and the rotational movements of the head and the arm translation achieve the desired finish for the inside of the tube.
The range of cylinders offered is wider in terms of both size and finishes and allows a perfect match to the specific needs of our customers.
The honing process, by rehabiliting the tubes of damaged cylinders in operation, is one of the strengths of our repair service.
